About AI Business Intelligence & Analytics
What do AI business intelligence tools do?
AI business intelligence tools help people understand business performance from data. Depending on the product, they answer questions about metrics, explain changes, prepare reports or flag unusual activity. The useful output is an answer that you can check against a source and use to decide what deserves attention. A fluent explanation alone is not evidence.
Choose by the decision you need to make
For a recurring morning review, look for scheduled analysis, delivery options and findings ranked by business impact. For exploratory questions, check how the tool defines metrics and handles follow-up questions. For stakeholder reporting, verify dashboards, sharing and export options. These are different workflows; a tool does not necessarily support all three.
Start with your existing sources. Confirm the exact connector, account scope, refresh interval and historical window. A familiar platform logo does not establish that every report or metric is available. Check whether the connection is live or merely announced.
Test a finding from source to action
Use one known change in your business as a trial case. Compare the tool's date range, currency, filters and calculation with the original system. Review the supporting evidence and distinguish a possible explanation from a proven cause. Decide who will verify and carry out the recommended action.
Check cost and access boundaries
Compare charges per user, business, source or analysis, including chat and history limits. Review permissions, storage location, retention and deletion terms before connecting sensitive systems. Read-only data access and automatic changes are separate capabilities; confirm which one the product offers.
