Harmony AI ITSM: Employee Service Desk Automation
AI ITSM for employee requests, access and service workflows

What is Harmony, in plain English?
Harmony is an AI IT service management platform for internal employee support. Think of it as a company service desk that can understand a request, look up approved information, and carry out configured IT tasks. ITSM covers IT requests; ESM extends similar coordination to services involving departments such as HR.
An employee can ask for help in Slack or Microsoft Teams instead of finding the right form or team. Harmony also lists email and portal intake. It can answer from connected knowledge, run a permitted workflow, or hand the case to a person with its context. IT service owners and HR operations teams are the main evaluators; employees use the resulting service.
Follow an application access request from chat to completion
Application access is a useful first pilot because success is observable: the employee either receives the correct access or gets a clear next step.
- An administrator connects the relevant identity provider and application, then defines eligibility, approval owners and permitted actions. Supported identity providers include Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace and JumpCloud.
- The employee requests a named application. Harmony checks existing access and collects required details, such as business justification or the duration of temporary access.
- The configured policy determines whether access can be granted automatically or needs approval. A submitted request does not itself override the policy.
- The connected provisioning action runs when allowed. Cases requiring manual completion remain with IT or the application owner.
- Check the ticket result and actual application access. Where temporary JIT access is configured, the grant can expire automatically.
The Access request workflow describes these branches. Missing integrations or permissions can turn an automated path into a human task.
Build and test an agent for your own process
Start with a frequent, bounded request whose outcome you can verify. Use a template or describe the task in natural language in the Agent builder, connect only the required tools, and define approval and escalation rules.
Before inviting a department, test a normal request, missing information, a denied approval and an unavailable downstream system in the sandbox. Inspect both the response and the resulting system change. Roll out to a small group, review failures and then expand. These are pilot recommendations, not a promise that every existing process will work without configuration.
Turn resolved requests into useful knowledge
Connect approved sources such as Confluence, Notion, SharePoint and Google Drive so the service desk can use organizational knowledge. Harmony also uses resolved tickets and conversations to identify missing guidance and prepare draft articles.
A practical routine is to review a recurring issue, check the proposed article against the source system, restrict its audience, then approve publication. A successful answer should become reusable guidance, while an obsolete procedure should be corrected. The Knowledge generation feature supports this review process; generated text still needs an owner who can judge accuracy and access.
Coordinate onboarding, offboarding and IT assets
A new-hire event in a connected HR system can initiate a parent request and separate tasks for accounts, equipment and other preparation. Offboarding similarly coordinates access removal and asset-return work, with assigned owners and completion tracking.
Harmony's asset inventory can synchronize connected device-management and endpoint-security sources and associate devices with employees and tickets. This helps a departing employee's laptop and access tasks stay visible together. Physical collection or laptop preparation still requires people; the workflow tracks those tasks rather than performing the physical work.
How Harmony pricing works
As checked on September 29, 2026, Harmony uses a sales-led quote rather than a public fixed price. Company size, service desks, request volume and environment complexity affect the discussion. The Pricing and quote request page does not establish a public recurring free plan or a standard free allowance.
Bring a list of systems, initial workflows and expected request volume. Ask which deployment work, integrations, API access and support are in the written scope, and confirm billing currency and taxes. Do not treat an absence of public prices as evidence of unlimited use.
Permissions and company data
According to Harmony's Security and data handling, customer data is not used to train, fine-tune or improve AI models. The same page states that customer data is stored in AWS data centers in the United States and workspace data is deleted within 30 days after workspace deletion.
Sensitive actions require explicit approval, and integrations operate within granted permissions. During evaluation, check which systems an agent can read or change, who approves sensitive operations and how deletion is initiated. These vendor statements do not establish a different hosting region or your organization's compliance by themselves.
Frequently asked questions
What makes Harmony more than a support chatbot?
Harmony can execute configured, authorized workflows as well as answer from knowledge. It escalates work that falls outside its scope or requires a person.
Is there a free plan or a fixed public price?
No recurring free plan, fixed public price or universal allowance was verified on September 29, 2026. Request a quote for the intended deployment.
Does Harmony use customer data to train AI?
Harmony's security page says customer data is not used for training, fine-tuning or model improvement. This is separate from where the data is hosted.
